The Beginning
The vision for Jubail Specialist Hospital was conceived by Dr. Kofi Amaniampong in 1974, driven by his passion to provide quality healthcare for all. After nearly two decades of planning and preparation, the dream began to take shape in 1993, when the land for the hospital was finally acquired.
Official Opening of Jubail Specialist Hospital
Jubail Specialist Hospital was officially opened to the public on September 25, 1996, marking the realization of a long-held vision. At its inception, the hospital focused on general medical services, obstetrics, and gynecology, laying a strong foundation for comprehensive healthcare delivery. The name “Jubail” was inspired by a city in Saudi Arabia and carries a special meaning “On the hill” — symbolizing hope, strength, and a higher calling to serve humanity.
Growth and Specialisation
A decade after its opening, around 2006, Jubail Specialist Hospital expanded its services to include assisted reproductive treatment and a gynaecologic laparoscopic surgery centre, addressing complex child-bearing and fertility cases.
25th-anniversary celebration, marking two and a half decades of operation
By its 25th anniversary, Jubail Specialist Hospital had achieved outstanding results under the leadership of Dr. Kofi Amaniampong. The hospital successfully performed over 350 in-vitro fertilisations (IVFs) and recorded more than 2,500 natural births, a testament to its excellence in maternal and reproductive healthcare.
