Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa is a doctor, pathologist, academic, leader, researcher, social commentator, writer and a "functional engineer". He is a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, Ghana Medical Association (FGMA), Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath), West African College of Physicians (FWACP) and the Ghana College of Physicians (FGCP). He is also an recipient for the Companion of the Order of the Volta for Public an Medical Services.
He has been a Consultant Histopathologist and Clinical Director of Pathology in the United Kingdom, Professor and Head of Department of Pathology at the Ghana Medical School, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, President of the Ghana Medical Association, President of the Commonwealth Medical Association, WHO Advisor on Polio Eradication in Nigeria and President of the WHO AFRO Task on Immunization.
He was Board Chairman for Trust Hospital and served on the Board of Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana Healthcare Ltd, Safety Ghana
He is the Executive Director of Healthy Ghana and on the Board of Governors of ENSIGN College of Public Health, Ghana
